10 Commandments
Of the 10 commandments, which do you feel is most often violated today?
No other Gods; No idols; Name in vain; Keep Sabbath;
Honor parents; Shall not murder/adultery/steal/lie/covet.
Believing Prayer
21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you
do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and
it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
(Matt 21:21-22 NIV)
Have
confidence in God and in yourself. Believe and do your best to see the matter through. Trust in the hand of Divine Providence.
A
Dry Place
So Moses did this in
the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because
they tested the LORD saying, "Is the LORD among us or not?" (Ex 17:6-7 NIV)
Why are we prone to doubt God in the
dry places of life?
Prayer
Support
As long as Moses held
up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses'
hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up — one on
one side, one on the other — so that his hands remained steady till sunset. (Ex 17:11-13 NIV)
Whose hands are you lifting up today?
Holiness
"Make a plate of
pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD. Fasten a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban; it is to
be on the front of the turban. It will be on Aaron's forehead… (Ex 28:36-38 NIV)
2 Questions today: 1) How important is “holiness”
for God to have it engraved in gold for the High Priest’s hat/turban? 2) What do you suppose is the significance of
wearing it on the forehead?
The Worthy Ones
Eubulus greets you, and so do Pudens, Linus, Claudia and all the brothers. (2 Tim 4:21 NIV)
Eubulus, Pudens, Linus and Claudia…we do not
know much about these people but they lived their lives in such a way that their names made it into God’s Word…
Hopefully, if this were being written today, your name would be included too!
Your Coming Joy
…weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing
comes in the morning. (Ps 30:5 NIV)
Take
heart my child, your weeping will not endure much longer. God is sending relief, the night will soon be over and you will
once again rejoice!
Trusting
God
I have become like broken pottery…But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."
My times are in your hands; (Ps
31:12, 14, 15 NIV)
When life
breaks up all around you, put your trust in God, He will see you through.
